For my money - and a ballgame costs a fortune these days - the bases-loaded triple is THE reason to go to the game (vs. watching on TV). The ball travels, you can see it is going to drop in (perhaps someplace far from an outfielder) -- you see the fielders getting into position for the relay), the baserunners are frantically (except for Giancarlo) moving......there is, literally, too much to watch.
Actually, a bases-clearing triple is a good case for the TV replay. You can't see it all the first time.
So I guess -- to quote Alfred Manuel Martin Jr. -- I feel very strongly both ways.
Remember when people brought radios to the game? I think I recall one or two fans bringing those tiny Sony battery-operated TVs back when all games were on channel 11.

ReplyDeleteSevvy imploding. I thought Stroman was getting near implosion time, but that slick DP helped.
ReplyDeleteI guess Oakland is “Last Chance Gas Station”
ReplyDeleteJazz triple! Wow.
ReplyDeleteSevy, I remember you when…
ReplyDeleteJism all over the place!
ReplyDeleteFour more runs and we win.
ReplyDeleteYou can’t go home again, Sevy 😭

ReplyDeleteMaybe it was in a movie:
The girl say “I love you.”
The guy says: “Yeah, but do you love me…like a triple?”
Exactly, Joe. Go to the game but bring a TV.

Might as well bring a board game to the game….
DeleteIt is upside down world today.
ReplyDeleteJizz with a shot at the cycle.
STROHman throwing a shutout.
I was sitting here thinking, up 5-0, time for a Judgian meaningless blast, and boom.
ReplyDeleteThat is cold JM
DeleteTrue, but it's true.
DeleteJesus. Are they just leaving Sevy out to dry?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThe idiot in the manager’s office is going to stretch Stroman out to get the win.
And he hasn’t pitched in how long?
Bellinger now.
ReplyDeleteWhere were these guys yesterday?
We only have a nine run cushion. I mention it since Brubaker is imploding. Nice fuckup by Volpe.
ReplyDeleteJT Brubaker. Wasn’t that a TV show?
ReplyDeleteThe poor guy looks like his world is ending. But that was a very bad performance.
ReplyDeleteThis game is far from being in the bag.
ReplyDeleteGonna be pretty damn long, too.
ReplyDelete12-5
ReplyDeleteThe King of Fresno!
ReplyDeleteThe local radio coverage loves Judge. He’s a GOD to them. Even more so than Dallas Braden.
That’ll be all the runs we’ll need today.
They have a chance at winning this one
ReplyDeleteJudge awakening?
ReplyDeletePossibly, Rufus.
ReplyDeleteTV and RADIO is blacked out. They never blacked out the radio before.
ReplyDeleteI was told it was likely due to my association with IIHIIFIIC.
What was it that Jim Morrison once said…..
AND AFTER I POSTED THAT THERE WAS A BLEET SOUND AND SUZYN WAS BACK ………. updating us on our rotation for the upcoming Toronto series.
