Carl, thanks. Just switched it on. Reminded me that I miss Gary Thorne. He use to do the Orioles games when I would occasionally work in Baltimore/DC. His audio was always in the backhalls of Camden Yards. Jim Palmer is an underappreciated pitcher and broadcaster. Male model, not so much...
No rehab for Weaver. Hey, a month off, he's ready for MLB hitters. Why wouldn't he be? Of course Boonie immediately puts him in a high leverage situation, in the midst of a lost 7 of 8 streak when the offense simply isn't functioning. Why wouldnt he? What an organization.

Birds jump right on our best pitcher as we are victimized by an ex-Yankee, as per usual.
ReplyDeleteThe interpreter is covering his mouth.
ReplyDeleteAre our lipreading Japanese spies that good?
Stanton had plenty of hittable pitches. Didn’t hit ‘em. Now come the dregs of the lineup.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that all Japanese pitchers have very similar deliveries
ReplyDeleteDepends on the local restaurants, I would image
DeleteGood point!
DeleteThank you
DeleteThe John Sterling blog is now devoid of any threads but this one.
ReplyDeleteBe verrrrrrrrrryyyyyy afraid.
That is So Very True 😵💫🙀
DeleteHal’s thugs better not show up at our doors
DeleteSo disappointed looking at the YES pregame. Had an old clip of Ken Singleton. Thought they might have him as guest announcer with the Orioles in town
ReplyDeleteVolpe is such a fucking, rally-killing asshole
ReplyDeleteWells, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd now Boooooone is trying to squeeze another out with Fried. And as usual, it’s costly and foolish hope
ReplyDeleteHe always manages to lose a couple of runs every time he tries to leave pitcher in just a little too long, hoping to steal an out or two.
ReplyDeleteRufus, you should be watching the Orioles' feed on MASN with Jim Palmer. Better commentary than on YES.

Rufus, Sir. Your Longest Day post might have awakened an anti-IIIHIIFIIC Sleeper Cell.
ReplyDeleteNo one has asked who was in the pic.
DeleteAlmost as disappointed about that.
James Darren
DeleteVolpe is unwatchable. They have Judge a day off but not him?!
ReplyDelete*gave
ReplyDeleteEasy picture to recognize if you're an old geezer like me: Paul Anka.
ReplyDeleteOoops! I think you’re right Carl.
DeletePicture from the movie.
DeleteWhat a career, mostly forgotten.
He did it his way.

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. They need REAL baseball people, not the current group of poseurs.
DeleteIt is very sad. Very sad, but not unexpected.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, the team goes down without a peep in the 7th, 8th, 9th
ReplyDeleteDespicable.
ReplyDeleteMethinks the June Swoon is not over so soon
ReplyDeleteHey Rufus. . .
ReplyDeleteWho’s that in the picture?
(Asking for a friend)
Yankees so bad they couldn't even keep their "no runs" streak going.
ReplyDeleteRemember the era of "Yo Mama" jokes?
Yes…..
