Yep. Mr. Inspiration, Aaron Boone, with yet another lineup. Fried's injury didn't help; let's hope it's just a blister, though of course on these Yankees, "blister"can become "season-ending TJ surgery" the next day.
Can't help feeling bad for the fans who paid a small fortune to see that display today.
So, just watched the Mets win. All right, I "watched" them while working. But still. The effort—in a hot afternoon day game, on the road, after an emotional win the night before—was like night and day compared to the Bronx team.
The Mets have various players slumping and hurting, too, and were starting the illustrious Frankie Montas, recently back from the DL. But they looked alive, played great defense the whole game—and as Ron Darling opined, it was an "all-in" managerial effort by Mendoza, daringly looking to win the series right here and now, and not worry about what his bullpen might look like tomorrow. Yeah, they got a little lucky—a pretty dubious "video replay"; that has to be largely ended—but still looked like a classy outfit, even when gassed.
Yanks just don't do that when they're dragging. Mayhap because every day there's a different lineup, every day there's a different strategy, and every day there's a different cast of lugnuts in the bullpen. Or maybe it's just the idiot manager.
"I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS"! .In other news, I see that Mr. R. Devers late of some fame in.Boston has lower disk problems. SOB!!! Boston seems to be running a charmed existence...😡

I see we’re back to our regularly-scheduled programming - Yankees losing, & getting no-hit.
ReplyDeleteFried leaves with a hand issue. I wonder if this wasn't something from before as he pulled out of the all star game
ReplyDeleteFried has blister problems on his index finger.
DeletePaulie just gave a shout out to AA. Compared Grisham's defense to him.
ReplyDeleteTo me…?
DeleteAbsolutely! He said it was above average.
DeleteSo nice of him
DeleteAs usual the team is half asleep 😴 in a day game following a night game. Also we’ve used up our comeback allotment for the month (year?)

Good thing Bern went last night.
DeleteGlad I didn’t watch/listen.
ReplyDeleteIm was at the game. Great game. Too bad Bellinger did not hit four. He did, but got robbed.
ReplyDeleteTwice a Yankee has come very close to that mark this season.

Sadly, the Yankees' brain(less) trust used Bonehead's ability to juggle the lineup at will as a FUCKING POSITIVE during the interview process.
DeleteThe fish rots from the head, as always.
The ANALytics aholes never consider player and *team* development.
Yet, we still watch. Shame on us.

ReplyDeleteHelter Skelter is a good way of describing Yankees' management.
DeleteSome of my cd collection at the bottom of the shelf have some playback issues. Is that the same thing?
DeleteA problem? What Hal worry?
DeleteTuned in just as Judge hit his home run. Then discovered it was the bottom of the eighth. Then realized we were losing. Then knew we would lose.
ReplyDeleteScheisse.
Bottom of the ninth, I mean.
