I have to say that this is almost how I imagined the first game back was going to be like.....although I sorta thought that the Braves would have reached double digits by now, the sixth inning.....
Nice baserunning earlier by Vivas with the no slide. I didn’t notice if the 3B coach gave him the slide sign, but it was a lazy, lackadaisical play nonetheless. Vivas came over in the Trey Sweeney trade and has looked totally overmatched at this level. Get rid of him
Bigger numbers are better, right? So the Yankees have gone from 1st in the division to 2nd & are closing in on 3rd. So they’re getting BETTER, right? Being 5th in the division would mean they were the best of the bunch? I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but I think they can do it, & I can’t wait to celebrate.
I just want to slap Cole's stupid face. And Giancarlo scampers to third on two bad legs on the throwing error much the way a plinth might scamper. I still love the big man of glass; it's not his fault he was grown with the robustness of a hot house orchid.
Cam is "supposed" to make his next start. In two years?! For all the money spent it really is amazing how poorly put together this team is, and the lack of help in the upper minors is something out of George's playbook. If The Brain manages to "re-shape" this team into a real threat then I'll start calling him "Mr. Weiss". With MLB becoming a mirror to the NBA playoff wise there just isn't enough out there to work with. If it wasn't for Judge I'd totally understand and agree with the idea of a sell-off. But man, I'd really like to see Judge get a ring or three....
I saw on replay that Coach Rios did give Vivas the slide sign on that play at 3rd, but Vivas ignored him. Just one play, but totally emblematic of the heedless, stupid play of this team, especially when it comes to baserunning. A well deserved loss.
Sadly, Kevin, Judge is never going to get a ring on this Yankees team. If he wanted that sort of jewelry, he should have signed with somebody else when he was a free agent...
...Pathetic, all around. Fried has a blister that doesn't heal after five days??? Are they planning to operate soon? Schicklegruber comes up with a sore arm? And he actually wants to be a professional athlete? How?
Hoss - the Yankees Medical staff has advised Fried to have Boone suckle the blister overnight for three more days…..I know it’s frustrating but advanced medical metrics recommend manager saliva as they key to a quicker and mo’ complete recovery….

Why is Hamilton pitching in the first inning?
ReplyDeleteCam has a sore arm.
DeleteHamilton is thirty, looks like he's forty-five, pitches like he's fifty.
ReplyDeleteCashman is 58, looks like he's 58, manages like he's 11.
DeleteBitty, excellent scouting report!
ReplyDeleteSay "Goodnight Grace"...........................................................................................
ReplyDeleteWhen a AAA call up doesn't slide on a play like that, it's a sign the organization has deep cultural problems. It's rotting, top to bottom.
ReplyDeleteNever mind a bullpen game after the fucking all star break. I hate this organization. Little the team. Root for the playets. Despise the organization.
ReplyDeleteI agree 1000 %
DeleteLike the team, that is
ReplyDeleteCam has sore arm?

ReplyDeleteBoone is watching and chewing with great intensity - he was so into the last couple of outs for this game . . . which reminds me . . . .

ReplyDeletebadly assembled team, badly coached, and owned by someone who does not seem to care what happens. it's just an ATM for Hal, who hates baseball.

ReplyDeleteGuess us west coast humans shouldn’t expect any responses past midnight east coast time.
ReplyDeleteThat said - I think that Boone is dreadful at managing.
He’s the most awful team leader I can remember.
Terrible.
Awful.
Repugnant.
My goodness-what have they done?
