  2. Losing already. Show some pride and play winning baseball. But imanaga is the type of pitcher that gives the Yankees headaches, don’t be surprised to see 6+ innings of shutout ball with double digit K’s

  3. Goldy’s power not what it used to be

  4. The annoying thing with Boone's teams is that they never stay straightened out for long. The mentality always seems to be that they're getting ready for the playoffs—even in early July. They have a great few games—and it means nothing. They go back to coasting.

I know it must be infinitely harder to motivate players today. But he sure as hell can't do it.

  5. Hamilton has taken a step backward…

    1. If he’s taken a step backward, then Loaisiga has fallen off a cliff. Should be DFA’d actually. They gave him $5M???

  6. Boone pushes the wrong button again. Very very doubtful they come bsck here.

  7. Peraza swings at the first pitch, weak contact as always. #9 hitter batting .160 doesn’t even try to work the count. Another DFA candidate.

  8. Look on the sunny side of life.

At least the left fielder didn't do a belly flop chasing a fly over his head.

  9. Shota Imanga is a good pitcher. But he's not Sandy Koufax under the Dodger Stadium lights....

  10. What part of Jazz'holms body will be injured during the H R D ?

  11. ...But speaking of which, Imanga is now 21-6 with an ERA under 3.00, in his season-and-a-half with the Cubbies, despite pitching at home in Wrigley Field. Cost? $22.5 million for 2024 AND 2025, combined, with $15-mill player options in 2026 and 2027. Cubs have $20-mill club options in 2026 and 2027, and a $17-mill club option in 2028. Practically a bargain these days.

I know he was older—30 last year—but of course our HOF GM never so much as mentioned him. Not like we need pitching or anything.

  13. From ESPN

    39. New York Yankees: Dax Kilby, SS, Newnan HS (Ga.), Clemson commit

Yes, another left-handed-hitting prep shortstop. Kilby, No. 28 in Kiley's draft rankings, has a short and direct swing to the ball, showing excellent contact skills and performing well against elite pitching on the showcase circuit last summer. He's a lean 6-3, with room to add more bulk, projecting to
home as scouts project a move to second base or outfield. The MLB player comp here is Colt Keith/Ryan McMahon, but with a chance for a better hit tool.

  14. 103. Yankees: Kaeden Kent, SS, Texas A&M

  15. Well, Dax Kilby and Kaeden Kent--chosen no doubt because their names are funny--will enter the Yankees farm system as future trade bait. We're piling up the shortstops.

  16. At first glance, it looked like you said "the Yankees fur system."
