  2. I try to look on the bright side of life.

We're 4 and a half out. Tampa is 10 out. We still have a shot at fourth.

  3. EVERY DAY ABOVE GROUND IS A GOOD DAY!

That being said, one day Hal will either sell the team or die and there is a tiny chance that the next owner might fire Cashman and restores us to our former glory. I can dream, can't I? The Dolans are pure evil, but I am coming to see Hal's indifference as much worse than that.

  5. Is this a holy thing to see
In a rich and fruitful land,
    Babes reduced to misery,
Fed with cold and usurous hand?

Is that trembling cry a song?
Can it be a song of joy?
    And so many children poor?
It is a land of poverty!

And their sun does never shine,
And their fields are bleak and bare,
And their ways are filled with thorns:
    It is eternal winter there.

For where’er the sun does shine,
And where’er the rain does fall,
    Babe can never hunger there,
    Nor poverty the mind appall

    ~ William Blake

  6. Whole new meaning to "where the sun don't shine."

Bill had a way with words. Drew well, too.

  7. "And did those feet
    In Mantle's time
Walk on the Bronx's dazzling green
    And was the great DiMaggio
    In the Stadium's vastness seen?

    And did Babe's Countenance Divine
    See a new park created?
And was a dynasty builded here
    Amidst our trains elevated?

Bring me my Mo of burning gold
Bring me my Jeters of desire
Bring me O'Neill, o clouds unfold!
Bring me my Yanks of fire!

I will not cease from juju fight
Nor shall my remote sleep in my hand,
Till we have raised another flag
In the Bronx's green and pleasant land!
