So first off...Randal Grichuk. Sigh. Yes, that's completely ridiculous.
Jasson deserves a full out shot. What Leo Durocher, no genius (and not a good guy) gave Willie Mays (not that Jasson, or anybody, is Willie Mays): You're my centerfielder. Period.
That's the position he fields best, that's where his speed will help most. Trent Grisham would be a terrific back-up. But of course, we're not going to have him be a back-up because we paid him $22 mill.
This is where the maddening stupidity of the Cashman regime comes in. "Geeze, that salesman really ripped me off! I paid five times what I should have for this car, and it keeps breaking down, requiring costly repairs. Well, I guess i have no choice but to keep throwing good money after bad!"...
A sign that hope is on the way? Stanton is already ailing. Love how playing all of 77 games is considered "a strong comeback."
Don't blame the guy personally. But he is someone who has wrecked himself due to over-conditioning and, almost certainly, juicing. We should have cut bait on him years ago.
At least, though, if he misses major time, there is a chance that we'll give Spencer and The Martian a real look.

Wait. Don't both lineups have the heading "Was"?
ReplyDeleteAside from that, one hell of a traditional box score.
Was Not Was?
