I hate Boone. Once again, he defies logic and the odds by not walking the guy before Diaz with no outs, runners on second and third. And them he singles.
One run lead against the Rays in extras. Win breaks a 3 game losing strwak. Your best infielder is on the bench. You lose because your opponent puts on a small ball clinic. Your manager should be fired immediately.

There's an old-school rap song somewhere in all of this.
ReplyDeleteDa Starting Lineup for your NY YANKEES:
ReplyDeleteTrent Grisham (L) CF
Aaron Judge (R) RF
Cody Bellinger (L) LF
Ben Rice (L) 1B
Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (L) 2B
Austin Wells (L) C
José Caballero (R) SS
Ryan McMahon (L) 3B
So, first inning, Judge fans on four pitches, Rice takes strike three right down the middle, with men on second and third. I'm through for the day.
ReplyDeleteWells is the first of the “F-Five” to go yard
ReplyDeleteYou win if you had Wells in the betting pool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like wells is dyeing his beard
ReplyDeleteOh boy - Volpe is in the dugout
ReplyDeleteAnd Ryan M gets a single
Volpe is supposed to come off dl when Yankees return to NY.
DeleteHe's apparently rehabbing in Tampa currently.
McMahon at .069. Whoo.
ReplyDeleteProbably up to.075 now. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the Masters. Crazy day there.
ReplyDeleteGolf done. Me, too. Watching the game off and on, and it doesn't look worth watching.
ReplyDeleteBut they’re the New York Yankees, JM.
DeleteIt just occurred to me that Mikey Stanton is the alfa Romeo of baseball.
ReplyDeleteFun when it is running smoothly, but it's broken down a lot. The key is keeping it running.
Can’t Run says it all
DeleteWhy isn't McMahon playing third with a one run lead in the 10th?
ReplyDeleteBad coaching again throws the game
ReplyDeleteUgleee ending to the game.
ReplyDelete(And it isn’t even over yet)
How will Bednar handle this workload all year?
ReplyDeleteNow it is

ReplyDeleteFire Boone already. Fire Cashman. Hire BASEBALL people, not sycophants.

ReplyDeleteGirardi said the Rays made the Yankees field it — sounds just like the Dodgers calling out their defense. Running it back at its finest.
ReplyDeletePathetic loss and sore to watch
ReplyDeleteI've managed to watch 7 full games this season and my record is 2-5
Maybe I'm a jinx
Or maybe a uninterested owner a bum GM and a clueless manager are to blame
Bednard another loss. A great deadline deal last year.l by Cooperstown Cashman.
ReplyDeleteBoone's tactical ineptitude is compounding at a cyclic rate.
ReplyDeleteAin’t got no closer.
ReplyDeleteMcMahon had been lifted earlier. Rosario pinch hit for him. Retract my earlier criticism on that count.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, down on the farm, the Martian had two BBs, 2SBs, 2 Runs scored while Spencer had a nice day for himself as well: he went 3 for 4 with 5RBIs
ReplyDeleteThink we could use those two bats in the lineup?
My post from 9:06 solves that error.
ReplyDeleteBut you knew that.
Along with anyone not paid by yesmen propaganda machine.
Mr. dumpster, Genius Cashman. 22.5 million for spent grisholm.
