Well, show Boone the way
To the clubhouse exit door
Oh, you know why
Oh, you know why
PLEASE
Show Boone the way
To the clubhouse exit door
Oh, you know why
Oh, you know why
For if we don't show
Boone the clubhouse exit door
I tell you we must Die Cry
I tell you we must Die Cry
I tell you
I tell you
I, like, uhm, well, you know . . .
TELL YOU WE MUST DIE CRY

Rice not starting AGAIN
ReplyDeleteyou gotta give other grains a chance at the table. quinoa and barley were just called up - so expect to see them available off the bench.
DeleteThreeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteGolly Geeeeeeee
Is it the torpedo bats coming back to haunt us? Or … that you can never trust a pitcher that the genius $man trades for?
ReplyDeleteOf course
DeleteI'm going to sleep can't see a way back in this game
ReplyDeleteMy current record watching live games is now 3-7 unless a major comeback here
Oh moon of HAL-a-ban-NY
ReplyDeleteWe now must say goodbye
We've lost our dear old Yan-kees
And now must have whiskey oh you know why
Listened in to the game again whilst having dinner. Heard Suzyn Waldman say that the Yankees "look under the hood" at hitters, meaning they don't care about things like batting average and instead look at hard hit balls, see if the batters hit 'em hard or hit dribblers.
ReplyDeleteAA, this one's for you. Sorry about it being x rated.

Also, this game sucks and Rice should sue for abuse.
ReplyDeleteThat kind of explains why Yankee analytics is so fucked up. Batting average is important. If you only look for hard hit balls, you'll get guys who strike out a ton and hit 5 moonshots in every 100 at bats. Even dribblers are important. If a guy gets a fastball right down the middle of the plate and only manages to hit a dribbler, that ain't good. But if a guy gets a very tough pitch and hits a dribbler for an infield single, that's one of the signs of a really good hitter. Another sign of a good hitter, a guy who can foul off many tough pitches in one at-bat. Yankee analytics ain't measuring these things. That's why their analytics suck. That's why they can't beat Houston or Tampa. Those teams always dribble us to death.
ReplyDeleteRice was having too good a year. They don't want him to have a great year, so they cool him down, try to slow him down, get him in a slump.
ReplyDeleteBoone’s lefty/righty matchups…not good tonight…
ReplyDeleteWell, this game is long over. My wife wants me to watch “The Pursuit Of Jade” with her, so we can “share the experience”.
ReplyDeleteRight now, that almost sounds more enjoyable than this debacle.
DeleteTo make this game even more disappointing, Grgich got an actual, honest to God, major league hit.
ReplyDeleteThat means Boone will start him for half of the next 30 games before they finally DFA him.
This is the end, my friend...
ReplyDeleteBut Hal says there's going to be a chicken in every pot.
And AA - that particular photo is so deadly that I may need to seek treatment after seeing it again.
Wait first to make sure that it’s not the end
DeleteIt was pretty funny. Reminded me of Dana Carvey, somehow.
ReplyDeleteDon’t tell him that, Hoss
