Even though the Braves are on a hot streak, I have a feeling the Yankees win tonite. You gotta think these bastards will score some runs against this lousy pitcher the Braves are starting. They're due. Overdue. And I don't believe in the Braves bullpen - they blow leads like Boone blows bubbles. Prediction: Yankees probably win tonite, then get killed in the next two games.
This here is another one where the search for the most ineffective reliever turned out splendidly. Four relievers, two gave up a run a piece. I long for the days of one reliever who finished the game. Those days are gone....
Braves blow a lot of games. Their bullpen sucks. I don't know how they've won so many games. Every time I look at the scoreboard, they're blowing a game in the 9th.
In case you’re wondering, and you probably aren’t, both Volpe & Dominguez’ homered tonight in the SWB loss, although Volpe also struck out 3x just for shits & giggles
Though of course the Red Sox won. Saw the whole game in a bar—very rare for me—with Hinkey Haines' cousin, who accompanied us on our Stadium sojourn. What a miraculous turnaround.
Will file a full report tomorrow—but then going to Old-Timers' Day with another friend. Can't wait to see the widows Ruth and Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio introduced last...

ReplyDeleteHow could we possibly lose now that The Intern has signed a 35-yo catcher whose last good season was seven years ago?
ReplyDeleteHe's the Kei Igawa of catchers.
DeleteHA
DeleteOnce again, the offense is stinking up the joint. three innings in the books & nary a hit.
ReplyDeleteSpencer Jones wuz robbed
ReplyDeleteBut once again, the team that cannot score unless it's home run derby
ReplyDeleteWatching paint dry is more interesting…
ReplyDeleteWaitin' for rain in the Sahara
ReplyDeleteYou’ll need Jeannie for that!
ReplyDeleteBlah. Blah, Blah, Meredith
ReplyDeleteI'd like to nail that wench Meredith
ReplyDeleteI guess the humidifier wasn't workin' tonite. And they've run out of those super hard wound balls.
ReplyDeleteAnd there goes the ball game!
ReplyDeleteWith the Yanks, 1-0 is like 13-0…
ReplyDeleteFernando Cruz hasn't been pitching well lately. The splitter not splittin'
ReplyDeleteOf course, that don't have any effect whatsoever on Boone's usage of Cruz.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the offense is even worse since the trade deadline moves. We usually weren't gettin' shut out.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, Boone is pinch hitting for Grisham
ReplyDeleteMust've been gut wrenching for Boone to remove Grisham
ReplyDeleteDidn't make any diff. Our pinch hitters never hit
ReplyDeleteMaybe somebody should tell Ben Rice that the object is to hit the ball, not whiff at it.
ReplyDeleteGoldschmidt in to pinch hit. Boone just can't wait to throw him in there.
ReplyDeleteAnother K. Do you get the feelin' that this just ain't our night?
ReplyDeleteBeen a long time since a new Yankee Classic…
ReplyDelete2-0 Braves. That sure takes the starch out of the bottom of the 9th.
ReplyDeleteGood Bye
ReplyDeleteCruel World
They’re leaving us tonight
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
“Well, they’re heading for the exits Jiggs…”
ReplyDeleteBoone didn’t even react to that home run - he just tossed in a few more pacifying seeds into his pie hole.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this team
This here is another one where the search for the most ineffective reliever turned out splendidly. Four relievers, two gave up a run a piece. I long for the days of one reliever who finished the game. Those days are gone....
ReplyDeleteJones will soon be joining Dominguez in Scranton.
ReplyDeleteAt least Lombard got a knock. Wasn't much of a knock, (using my best pirate voice) but it'll look like a line drive in the box score....
ReplyDeleteTold ya the Braves bullpen sucks....
ReplyDeleteAt least the bastards got Rice up there for a last chance.
ReplyDeleteYes but what will happen
ReplyDeleteIt's official: the Braves bullpen sucks!
ReplyDeleteJust missed a 3 run homer
ReplyDeleteRice came through…
ReplyDeleteGot interesting all of a sudden
ReplyDeleteThe Nats were ok with trading Garcia because….
ReplyDeletehe can’t hit LH pitching
DeleteUh oh extra innings!
ReplyDeleteFree Baseball
ReplyDeleteBonus Cantos…
ReplyDeleteBednar held them. So can these bastards score a fucking run and end this thing?
ReplyDeleteThat was fucking stupid
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?
ReplyDeleteAwful AB by Caballero. He is a 26th man, but can’t do the little things
ReplyDeleteBases loaded. You know the Yankees are incapable of getting a hit. So gotta hope for a wild pitch, hit by pitch
ReplyDeleteBest bunt attempt that I’ve seen in decades
ReplyDeletestick your forearm out, get nicked
ReplyDeletethe Yankees WinnY
ReplyDeleteBastards finally got a sac fly!
ReplyDeleteYankees Win!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, that wasn’t so hard, was it?
ReplyDeleteAn instant Yankee Classic…
ReplyDeleteBraves blow a lot of games. Their bullpen sucks. I don't know how they've won so many games. Every time I look at the scoreboard, they're blowing a game in the 9th.
ReplyDeleteGood golly Suzyn has still got some electric energy
ReplyDeleteIn case you’re wondering, and you probably aren’t, both Volpe & Dominguez’ homered tonight in the SWB loss, although Volpe also struck out 3x just for shits & giggles
ReplyDeleteWhenever Volpe homered, I always cringed because that meant he would start swinging for the fences for weeks on end.
DeleteThis is a double win for us: the fucking Dodgers blew their game in the 9th (Edwin Diaz). Fucking Dodgers lose!!!!
ReplyDeleteThough of course the Red Sox won. Saw the whole game in a bar—very rare for me—with Hinkey Haines' cousin, who accompanied us on our Stadium sojourn. What a miraculous turnaround.
ReplyDeleteWill file a full report tomorrow—but then going to Old-Timers' Day with another friend. Can't wait to see the widows Ruth and Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio introduced last...
