    1. This is a tricky question. In Hinduism, there are 33 kotis (gods and goddesses), though that number is considered by some to be elastic on the upside. In a recent poll by the New York Times and Siena College (the pride of Loudonville), 27 or those 33 do favor Milwaukee. The 6 who had been favoring LA now don't give a shit.

Monotheist Gods are hard to pin down. They are almost impossible to reach by phone or email, and their locations are often kept secret, especially from their most fervent worshippers. Some theologians believe they "go with the flow" where baseball is concerned. Whoever is winning secretly gets their support. Yahweh is reportedly betting on the Brewers using proxy gamblers online, but there is no real way to verify this claim. Jesus Christ--one of three persons in one God, related to Yahweh in a murky arrangement no one understands--tends to prefer teams from sunnier climates, so with LA now out of it, JC would be expected to go with TB (which proved fatal for Edgar Allan Poe's child bride). Again, there are no real reliable sources for this speculation.

    2. Thank you, JM. I'm going to have to digest all of this for a while - along with whatever I'm about to stuff in my pinhole for breakfast here in the sovereign nation of Manhattan, which by the way, I may soon leave, but who the fuck knows and who the fuck cares, just so long as I can keep this run-on sentence going? Anyway, if JM believe that JC would favor TB, now that LA suffered a KO, I may have to revisit my choices in life, starting with NYC. Either way, it will all be A-OK here on Groundhog Day. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Time to go shit in my pants again. Where's Natalie?

    3. As one who has suddenly had a severe attack of homesickness for NYC, this week, I have to ask...why would you leave the city? I realize there could be a number of valid reasons, but I would so love to be there again. I had made peace with the small German town where I am, but maybe going to Paris last week triggered something.

You'd think that Hal, with all his billions, would spare a million or two to fund my return and our New York lifestyle, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.

  2. For Yankee fans, it remains Groundhog Day.

  3. Apologies to original poster, but:

"Anyone else tired of smoltz? When Dodgers are batting, all he talks about is how good the Dodgers hitters are. When brewers are batting, all he talks about is how good the Dodgers pitchers are."

I usually talk about how bad smoltz is in both of those situations. Good riddance to him AND the Dodgers.

    1. Schmuckz hates the Yankees, so he loves the Dodgers, so his biases are on full display. Thought often in a passive-aggressive way that tries to elude criticism. It doesn't work around here.

  4. Hey JM, hope you and yours are doing well. We wish you were here, too.
