An Above Average Haiku Tøøzeday – A Wee Bit Giddy, Bitty – Edition ! NEWSFLASH ! – According to an "Anonymous Authority" this Haiku will now double as tonight's Game Thread.
October baseball is not so rare as it once was. Am I harsh on them? Yes, but after this many years of failure and mediocrity, it'll take a lot to earn my trust back, let alone my dollars.
You guys are a constant comfort to me, in my limited ability to join the merriment (nothing serious; will explain later this week). First off, I just want to say that my 66 win prediction was CLOSE...at least around mid-August. Who knew they would pick it up?...
...Which only makes it all the more frustrating. With true juju sadism, Hal & Pal have yet again assembled a team that will finish one key player—infielder? catcher? I predict relief pitcher—short of taking it all. But hey—I have to admit, I prefer being tortured to relaxing without hope. Hmm, what does that say about me?...
...Meanwhile, I just want to inquire: Didn't Faith keep her hope and charity in a little tin box? A little tin box that a little tin key unlocks? Asking for a friend.

ReplyDeleteI don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about, but I so know there will be October baseball in NYC!
DeleteYou’re optimistically assuming they won’t proceed to lose their last 5 games & end up the road team in the wild card round.
