Reasons:

1) Autumn-tested vet can solve our gaping hole at third.

2. To punish Boston and establish a firm rule: Win the Series, and we buy your hero.

3. If gaping hole at third fills unexpectedly, this autumn-tested vet solves our gaping hole at first.

4. Considering what we'll pay A-Rod, it's all chump change from now on.
