The Case for Rondell

Great news: He says he's only "90 percent sure" he'll retire.


Rondell White: The potential perfect back-end of a solid DH rotation of Giambi, Matsui, Duncan and Damon. We'd no longer have to start a DH on less than 4-days rest.


Rondell, 35, would be the first to tell you his .174 batting average last year was a disappointment.


Hey, folks... with A-Rod gone, the world is our Walmart. Let's not be afraid to dream.

    I love Rondell, but surely we can afford to treat ourselves to Richie Sexson (.205, crushed in 63 runs, $12.5 million per).

    Actually, I was saving Sexon for the Christmas Eve post.

    There's so much out there on the free agent market that I can't understand why sportswriters are calling it "paltry."

    I'm sure some of Hank's sweet-talking and a few of those dollars that A-Rod walked away from could lure Jeromy Burnitz out of retirement.
