By morn, we’ll feel the fires,
On winds from Santa Anna.
Will we keep our sanity?
Or trade it for Santana?
By morn, we’ll see our futures
As great, or also-ran.
Will we keep our dignity?
Or trade it for Johan?
The morn shall be our deadline,
The dawn, to win or lose.
Will we keep our future?
Or will we trade Phil Hughes?
We are doomed and you know it.
ReplyDeleteBy sunlight tomorrow, all that we hoped for, and waited for will be living in a Dome.
We'll have the dregs, for sure. A 29 year old with a 40 year old arm and a few stragglers left to trade for past Cy Youngs and Homerun crowns.
Who wants to put down their family fortune on the bet that Johan will never again win a Cy Young ( if in pinstripes)?
I say, next year, we trade everyone else for Manny.
At minimum, we must trade Jesus now before we start to believe. I don't want to have any real prospects in the system.
Oh to be a kid who dreams of being a Yankee, becomes one, and then gets dished for some has been.
As Yankee fans we are now doomed to have all future hopes burned in the pyres of past performances, blindly lusted after by Gronk and his minion Brian.
Don't you just love the idea of a complete Yankee team without a single home-grown Yankee on it?
I bet we can coax Randy Johnson back for $100 million ( one season ) and our next 7 number one draft picks.
the Yankees will never win again. That's the simple truth.
This is the Eli Manning trade.
- Alphonso ( remember when we were happy to have him as a Yankee?)
Well, my buddy Andy is apparently coming back. I'm not going to decide anything now, but, let me just say, I'm feeling great. My legs are strong and I haven't felt this limber since I was 42, maybe even 41. I love wearing the Pinstripes and I've got a feeling this "Rocket" has one more mission to October in him. So if you're ready to give me one more final standing ovation as I walk off the Stadium mound and wave my cap back to you, maybe I'll see ya'll in July.
