Well, if you put it that way, OF COURSE he should be elected ...


Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy, arguing that Redsock Jim Rice should be in the Hall of Fame:

"(Rice) came up short in the postseason, he didn't play great defense, and he didn't dominate for as long as some other sluggers. But he didn't cheat."

Now the Hall doesn't have to worry about what to put on Rice's plaque if he's elected next year. Shaughnessy has written it for them.
