Our pick for Comeback Player of 2008: Dice-K

Ace Redsock gyroballer Daisuke Matsuzaka – Dice-K, for short - is primed to bounce back from 2007 and return to last winter's form.

A year ago, after finalizing his history-making deal with New England, "K" won several pre-season Cy Young Awards, was a consensus pre-season all-star, and even nabbed a few pre-season Most Valuable Player trophies for his pre-season game room.

And for good reason!
The experts predicted "K" to win up to 30 games, capping one of history's greatest off-seasons for predictions.

"K" won 15 games and lost 12, sporting an ERA below 5.00, and securing his rotation spot despite competition from the always- testy Julian Tavarez. In four post-season starts, "K" dazzled with a 5.03 ERA, averaging nearly 5 innings per appearance.

Gyro-great! But we think "K" can do better.

From now on, let "K" stand for Komeback! And Kongrats on another pre-season honor!
