Another Bridge Collapses in Minnesota: The Kyle L. Farnsworth Memorial

Manager Said to Be Missing
MINNEAPOLIS _ Police say 25 Yankees were killed Monday when the $30 million Kyle L. Fansworth Memorial Bridge abruptly began wobbling and crashed into the Eighth Inning River.
Witnesses said the Andrew E. Pettitte Construction Crane momentarily went out of control, slamming into the famous bridge, which connects the downtown to suburban Riveraville.
It was believed that the Derek Jeter Emergency Rescue -- oh, fuck this -- these Yanks are so disgraceful that they don't even deserve to be satired. This isn't funny. This is horrible. We might as well run Gitmo torture jokes. Does anybody realize that it's almost exactly a year -- it was June 9, 2007 -- when Yankee fans fell for the "Roger Clemens is Coming Back" hype? And now we're supposed to buy into the notion that Joba Chamberlain is going to turn everything around? This is criminal. What happened to the fire that Girardi was supposed to light under this team? What happened to the farm club that Cashman was supposed to be developing? We spend more than anybody else, twice as much as most teams, and look at what we are: a team of big contract zombies. Is anybody going to shake this team up?

  1. Ive been saying it all year. We just have to get through this season. This season is like the '95 season with next year being '96. A lot of dead weight comes off the books this off-season. Yeah....everyone is high on Giambi at the moment, we'll see what everyone thinks of him come late August, when we need all our wins and the Giam-bino is out there hitting into his shift again. Kyle Farnsworth-less will finally be gone. Yanks should be looking for some more pitching help in the off season. The team will be better next year, mark my words.

And by the way, when I seen Farnsworth-less coming into the game, I immediately called a Twins victory. Thats twice in a row now that I have made the call accurately when Farnsworth-less has entered a game. The last time I actually was able to call the exact pitch that landed in the Metrodome seats. Its pretty bad, as a fan, for someone outside of baseball to know exactly how hes going to pitch in each count and including pitch type and location.

  2. I'm even starting to regret my Larry Craig poem.
