Yanks Look to Take 4 out of 3 in Seattle

On their way to Software City, the Battlin' Bombers are hoisting helmets high, roused by Thursday night's 9th inning heroics, in which they scored 5 meaningless runs, mostly with two outs and no chance in creation of actually winning the game -- which they lost 7-5.

"This just shows what we're capable of a doing when we get far enough behind," said Alex Rodriguez, whose dramatic two-out, ninth inning home run hit the catwalk above left field. "Now, we've got to keep the contract numbers momentum going in Seattle.

"Folks have not counted us out all year," he said. "We intend to prove them wrong."

To claw back into the race, the team needs to take four out of three in Seattle, then win at least six games this weekend against the division leading Angels of Anaheim.

"We're not going to kid ourselves," said designated hitter Jason Giambi. "Taking four out of three against anybody is tough, but to do it in Seattle -- that's the home of the Space Needle! -- heh heh... Aww, when I said we weren't going to kid ourselves, I was kidding. See? We're loose. We're ready to play. That's how you pull together and win four out of three."
