Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

Why is Barack Obama referred to as black? His mother was white. New York Yankee Derek Jeter, a product of the same mixed parentage, is not referred to as black.

I believe that it would go a long way toward bridging the gap between those who are opposed to a black president and those who aren?t if the media would refer to Obama as biracial. After all, he is just as white as he is black.

We do not have a "black" president; we have a new, energized president who is ready to lead this country into the future.
