Patches? We don' need no stinkin' patches!

This is supposed to build pride? WTF? Why, why, why do they do these things? Are they that hard up for money?

Is it all about selling an extra model, an extra made-in-China version, for the usual $19.98?

Yeesh. We used to be the New York Yankees. We used to not do those things. Nobody became a Yankee fan because of a patch on the back of a hat. In fact, we would never stitch names on the backs of uniforms, because that is sacred real estate, a place where patches and logos and slogans are not supposed to go.

What's going on? Are we losing something here?

Because if you've got to constantly promote tradition, then you don't have one.

Good grief. Patches?

  1. Hey, I can't wait for these to come out. They are going to a big part of my retirement nestegg. I will be thinking of this post when I am on "The Antiques Roadshow 2050" and find out I am sitting on a fortune! What do you have against free enterprise? You must be one of them Obama socialists. By the way just what is wrong with having names on uniforms?
