Despite heroics of Yankee EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH Brett Gardner, "Team USA" beats America's Team

"Team USA" -- wait; wasn't that a puppet movie by the guys who do South Park? -- beat the REAL American team -- us -- today 6-5.

But the big is was Brett Gardner, IIHIIFIIc "YANKEE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH" for February, who went 3-3 with a double and stolen base.

Listenup...

We love Melky. And we won't give up on Melky. But Melky is soooooo 2007.

Brett Gardner is the great new hope for a young, emerging star who can make the Gammonites forget the money, the DWIs, the pole dancers and faded divas and the urine tests that over the last six months turned this team into a tabloid trailertrash disaster movie.

We need a new face.

Robbie Cano can't do it. Joba cannot do it. Bruney can't lose enough weight. We need a kid with no negatives -- no hookers, no syringes, no weekends at Kaballah -- who breathes hope into the line-up and isn't receiving $150 million in bearer bonds.

Brett Gardner. He doesn't need to go 3-3. He can go 0-3 and help this team. Look at his career. At every level, he became the catalyst for a run-scoring attack. He runs, he slides, he dives, he plays hard.

Make no mistake of this. He is not the Yankee EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH of February.

He is our only hope.
