H1N1 is a strain of influenza that has both avian and swine characteristics as well as human flu traits, and is found in both types of animals.

"Swine flu" has nothing to do with the consumption of pork products, and everything to do with the modern farming industry as it was humans who gave the flu to the pigs, where it mutated and came back into contact with humans as H1N1.
Oh and BTW, its called 'ALS' now, not Lou Gehrig's disease. I'd like to think we've moved on since 1939...
