He is DHing because there is no equipment manufacturer in the US or Latin America who still has a steel forge capable of molding a catcher's mask to match the size of his head.
Jesus, as you know, is bigger than most humans. Only a single Budda, located somewhere in North China, is larger.
At 6'8" and 345 pounds, Jesus cannot provide a target in the strike zone, even whilst squatting.
And, at age 19 or so, he is still growing. He eats from a trough with the long-horns that Hank and Hal raise in Forida.
His speed to first base is now officially over 1 minute.
Jesus has been thrown out at first several times from the outfield after line shots bounced cleanly off the outfield walls.
