More Wins: Here's How

Going into today's game, the New York Yankees' win percentage is .528. Which is all right, considering. But would you like it to be better?  Consider two air-tight, open-and-shut empirical facts:

1. The Yankees are .615 in Yankee games Miguel Cairo played as a Yankee. [Citation. Scroll down for Cairo.]

2. Friday night, the Phillies designated Miguel Cairo for assignment.

OK, who would have thought that Randy F'in "I got a small one for my height" Johnson would be at the top of that list?

I like Miggy too, but should we sign the ugliest man in baseball also, based on this algorithm?

And who the hell is Christopher Basak?
