To Boldly Go

In an early inning last night -- I want to say the second -- John & Suzyn were bitching, as usual, about having to travel all the way across the effing continent just to play the stupid Mariners and the stupider A's (they still exist?). And John said, and you could almost hear his sly little grin when he said it, he said to Suzyn, "Do you remember... "Beam me up, Scotty?" And Suzyn took that and ran with it, saying, oh, yes, she'd love to just stand on one of those twinkly things and wake up in Seattle!

From now on, I would like all Yankee fans to refer to the Enterprise transporter as "the twinkly things." Also, please please please let us know (in the comments section of any post) when they make any cultural reference, to help me prove or debunk my theory that, to John and Suzyn, nothing outside of baseball or Broadway happened after 1980, and very little after 1960.
