If we lose... goodbye Johnny? Nick? Godzilla? Jaba? Phil? all of Scranton?

Inside every Yank fan's soul lurks the atom-splitting, blood-hot lust for vengeance.

If we make the WS, we want to beat Pedro Martinez like the urine-stained, dwarf-molester he is.

If we fall to the Angels, we will feel the primal need to hurt somebody.

Every Yankee winter since 2001 has supplied a scapegoat. As the executioner tells Evrémonde in the final chapter of A Tale of Two Cities, "Bro... somebody head gotta roll."

The Nick Swisher Show could close overnight.

Johnny and Hideki might be gone.

And if Toronto puts Halladay on the market -- no, WHEN Toronto puts Halladay on the market -- the Hughes/Chamberlain Forever Futures could be packaged up in a bow... with Melancon, Robertson, Gardner, Melky, Austin Jackson -- Are you getting the message here? WE COULD TRADE OUR NEXT GENERATION.

Cashman is no fool. And we can't prejudge a deal.

If we win the Series, he'll feel pressure to keep fan favorites.

If we lose to LA, it's not just another angry November.

It would be the angriest one yet -- and with Roy Halladay up for bids.

  1. We are gonna win game 6, regardless of when it is going to be played. And regardless if we win or lose I think we should keep Johnny Damon. For his sake, there is no better field for him to finish his career and I think he is a big enough part of the team to bring him back. Matsui can leave. Swisher can leave or go, while he did better then I expected and provides and energy that no one else can, he has really struggled down the stretch (and thats all anyone will remember). I like Phil, but Joba can go. Was it 3 years ago, that he was the best reliever by far in the league? What happened, where is his 100mph fastball? Are the Yankees holding him back, or can you just not be that dominate pitcher anymore? Either way he is a no better than an average starter/reliever now.

  2. It would be something crazy if we don't win it all this year. We have everything aligned. We have CC, A-Rod, Teix, Cano, Burnett, and some other players in their primes. We are still getting valuable contributions from Jeter, Rivera, Posada and other veterans.

It'll be interesting to see what the perceived value of Hughes and Joba is by other teams. They're certainly not the can't miss prospects they were a few years ago.

Also, check out some great Yankees Memorabilia from my client, Steiner Sports. Let's hope there will be some memorabilia from your 2009 WS Champs, the YANKEES!
