If the Jets win the Super Bowl, what does this mean to the Yankees?

Let's face it: When the Giants win the championship, the Yankees don't.

When the Jets win, the Mets win.

OK, we're talking about a limited set of results here. One result. I'm not going to try and sell a grand conclusion here. Then again, 100 percent compliance.

Consider this:

In January 1969, Joe Namath took the Jets past the overwhelmingly favored Baltimore Colts in the Super Bowl.

Ten months later, the Miracle Mets did the exact same thing against the Baltimore Orioles.

Should we worry? Of course we should! Never in history have the Jets won the Super Bowl without the Mets also winning the World Series.

Never. Not once.

We should have signed John Lackey.

  4. Seriously this Lackey sloberfest is getting downright disgusting.

And it means nothing. The 2009 Yanks already got a championship. And there is little chance the Jets get past the Colts.

  7. Indianapolis doesn't have a major league baseball team, so it doesn't matter.
