It is time to take nominations for Yankee Employee of the Month

Sorry, but Johnny Damon -- a leading contender for IIH Humanitarian of the Year -- is not eligible.

Ivan SuperNova? (two big outings)
Joe Girardi? (to sweeten the deal and keep him from Chicago)
Swisher? (Big hits)
CC? (Our rotation)
Jesus Montero? (led Scranton to IL pennant)

Who are we missing?

  1. How about Eduardo "Go-Go" Nuñez, for a stellar offensive display his first week in the bigs?

Joba Chamberlain, who, while nobody was paying attention, got good again?

    Marcus "River Of Homers" Thames?

  2. I'd vote for Marcus before he turns into a bum again. Happy Thames won't last forever!

  3. Cervelli will only once in his life go 4-4 and throw out a pinch runner , late in the game, who represented tying run.

He also scored the go ahead and winning run.

In a game where the Yanks' "B" team bats were again limited to 2 runs, Cervelli was key to game.

Nunez could be considered, too, for his 3 hit
and first HR game. But I can't forgive him for error yesterday. I mean, a guy known for his glove blows a routing grounder late in game, which could easily have allowed Sox to tie us.

    Ugh.

Finally, is Kerry Wood on the list? Best acquisition in a long time.

  4. He's not on the payroll.

If you're not on the payroll, with the W-2 form and the 990, you're not eligible.

Neither is Melky Cabrera. Neither is Austin Jackson. Not on the payroll... not eligible.

These aren't my rules. These are fundamental rules of the workplace.

  5. Not a sexy name, but Kerry Wood has been lights out for us this month.

  6. Nick Johnson has been pretty stellar for us

  7. Johnny Damon should be a nominee.

And if *you* say he can't be because he is not on the current payroll, then I demand you revoke the IIHIIF Employee of the Month Award from Kate Hudson (Oct 09), Melky Cabrera (Dec 09), Luis Castillo (June 09), and Jim Rice (Aug 09).

    I demand justice.

  8. Jm. Darn is right, you know. If Damon is nominated, he's got my vote. Maybe.

  9. Nick Johnson and Lance Berkman's physical therapist.

  10. Derek "Doubleplay" Jeter has been scary consistent. What about him?

  11. Hank, for his coaching abilities. God I wish he would do more press availabilities.
