Letter to the Editor: Elco blemishes Yankee comparison

The Lebanon Daily News (Pennsylvania)

Most high-school sports fans know the result of the Cedar Bowl from Sept. 3. But few may have noticed another game that same night, which may have been one of the biggest sports upsets in Lebanon County history.

Lebanon High School defeated Elco, 2-0, in soccer!

In case you weren't aware, Lebanon has struggled mightily in soccer since its inception in the 1970s. Elco is the New York Yankees of soccer in this area, if not the state. While the Cedars expected improvement, no one could have expected this.

The Cedars started their season at 2-0. Congratulations to coach Sean Miller and his guys. Hard work and dedication pay off.

  2. That Elco team is 3-3 this month.
A disappointing .500 team in September, just like the Yankees.
