Good grief. If every time CC Sabathia steps into the sunlight, a writer asks him to commit to the Yankees until the end of time, he'll definitely opt-out of his contract.
I would, too. Just for peace of mind.
People, must every event in the Yankiverse be a catastrophic human crisis?
I recognize that we live in perilous times. As Yankee fans, we want every free agent. We want every player. We want to win every season, every series, every game -- hell -- every at bat, every pitch -- we even want to win every off-season.
But we can't explode into dark matter every time a team official or player speaks. These are not world leaders. These are not statesmen. These are jobos. They say whatever the hell is in their jobo heads.
Yesterday, CC Sabathia refused to rule out the possibility that he will opt-out of his contract sometime within the next five years.
Good. Nothing has changed. Nothing, except we have a better understanding of where we stand.
As for next year? Whodafuk knows? And by the way, this only shows more so than ever that WE NEED TO SIGN KEVIN MILLWOOD. WE NEED ANOTHER LEFTY IN THE ROTATION, A GUY WHO CAN THROW 150 INNINGS. IT'S ONLY MONEY. KEVIN MILLWOOD WOULD GIVE US THE KIND OF YEAR WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN FROM ANDY PETTITTE! HE'S OUR FOURTH STARTER. PAY HIM THE MONEY. DO NOT TRADE PROSPECTS FOR SOME GUY WHEN WE CAN SIGN KEVIN MILLWOOD AND NOT LOSE A PLAYER.
Millwood is right-handed. Duh.
ReplyDeleteNeeding a left hander does not preclude Millwood. If you followed the thread you would understand El Duque's logic.
