10 Reasons Why Jorge Didn't Play Tonight

1. Tired of punishing Major League Baseball pitchers.

2. Wanted to give young Andruw Jones chance to blossom.

3. Didn't feel in the mood to beat up on Boston again.

4. Restless Leg Syndrome.

5. Felt pain in the -- ummm -- back. Yeah, that's it: The back.

6. Old-fashioned Yankee pride.

7. Only girls bat ninth.

8. Wanted to see if anybody would notice.

9. Sick of hearing those "Hip Hip, Jorge" cheers.

10. Huckabee pulled out; why not Posada?
