In fact, more so. Ms. Waldman watches "The Young And The Restless" when it's broadcast at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Sterling records it. "They're always talking about people I think are real people—'Why would she do that?'" said sportswriter Jack O'Connell, who joined them for dinner.

ReplyDeleteBaseball is a soap opera, after all. It's all about relationships, it's on every day, and the story arc is a distant abstraction.
