Oh for five: You're off the Mark, Teixeira!

AND HE POPS IT UP... YOUKILIS SETTLES UNDER IT... AND THAT'LL DO IT.

Yeesh. I'm cringing every time Teixeira comes up. Sorry, folks, but we've seen the Giambi syndrome before, and it's not pretty.

Maybe the Yankees should switch Jesus Montero to firstbase. Maybe he not so permanently blocked at that position anymore.

Yeah, I know -- I'm venting. Another horrible Yankee loss, and no end in sight. To think of squandering the few great outings we're going to get from this pitching staff... ughh.

But I'm sorry, when Teixeira marches to the plate, I am filled with an urgent sense of dread.

We know that Jorge is on a short window. If he doesn't start hitting, we'll find somebody else. But we're down with Teixeira for two years, minimally. And all I see is a declining output -- offensively and defensively. I love the guy. But some players get old fast. Remember Giambi?

  1. Giambi lost it fast when he stopped using steroids. Tex has just moved his unbelievably sucky April to May so people can't say he got off to another horrible start. See how it works? Now they can say he got off to a great start but floundered in May.

If Tex has been on steroids, we'll soon see the vision problems and joint injuries that plagued Giambi when he quit. Remember when Big Papi quit? Man, he really sucked for a while. That was fun.

The Yankees have one more chance today to throw at Youklis' head. That's always funny. His face gets so red and that weird beard-like growth jumps up and down as he jaws at the pitcher.

    Yooooooook.

  2. I'm hoping the Cardinals realize they won't be able to re-sign Pujols, and trade him to us for Tex.
