Who says the Yankees can't develop a solid bullpen? Look at last night's performance!
Scott Proctor, Atlanta, 1 inning, 0 runs, 0 hits, ERA: 2.08
Mark Melancon, Houston, 1 inning, 0 runs, 1 hit, ERA: 1.72
Jose Contreras, Philadelphia, .1 inning, 4 runs, 2 hits, ERA 4.26
Dan McCutchen, Pittsburgh, 2 innings, 1 run, 3 hits, ERA 2.05
Mike Dunn, Florida, .1 inning, 1 run, 2 hits, ERA: 4.08
Randy Choate, Florida, .1 inning, 0 runs, 0 hits, ERA: 0.84
Brian Bruney, Chicago WS, .1 inning, 0 runs, 0 hits, ERA: 4.15
OVERALL: 5.1 innings, 6 runs, 8 hits

Scott Proctor is still pitching?
ReplyDeleteI thought his arm fell off years ago.
You aren't seriously suggesting we should have kept Contreras and Bruney, are you? As for those stats, Chamberlain, Robertson, Ayala, Noesi, Logan, Pendleton, and even the late Buddy Carl Lyle have [had] lower ERAs than Contreras, Bruney, and the overrated Dunn.
