Yankees say, "This time around, we won't screw up our young pitchers. Nope, we've learned our lesson!"

That's the line coming out of the Tampagon today: We won't rush Andrew Brackman, Manny Banneulos or Dellin Betances. They're great prospects, and we're going to let them move through the minors at their own pace, and we won't trade them.

You gotta be kidding me. Seriously.

Do they honestly think we buy anything they say?

This is exactly what Spiderman Cashman says before they pull off a disaster, a giveaway, and you can feel this oncoming lard-bucket of incompetence rolling into the subway station any minute. We're going to try and prop up a listing, bloated team by adding some listing, bloated salary. It's like borrowing to keep down taxes. Just kick the can down the road, and figure that we'll deal with it next year, around this time.

Folks, this collapse has been a long time coming.

We either use this year to rebuild, or we just keep sliding. What's it going to be?

  1. Y'know, I like some of these kids, mainly Montero and Betances. But lets be real: everybody says the Yankees have one of the best farm systems in the majors, yet none of these kids ever seem to be ready to contribute in the show. And some of them are just plain raw talent that we can't seem to develop. Brackman's pitching poorly in AA. Sanchez got kicked off the team in Charleston. Heck, Nunez is a "tools guy" who can't make the throw from shortstop accurately.

When looking at how Cashman developed Joba and Hughes, I bet you the Killer B's are dying to be traded a la Ian Kennedy.
