Why Do We Keep Missing The Obvious?

There is a lot of discussion about a 6 man rotation for the Yankees right now.

Why?

A 6 man rotation is stupid and won't work. We all know that. Girardi knows that.

The answer is staring us in the face. It doesn't mean we'll do the right thing for the team, any more than Congress did the right thing for the country.

Nonetheless, here is the answer:

AJ Burnett should be dropped from the rotation. He didn't win a game in July and, last night, he was an embarrassment. He would have blown the 13-2 lead.

You know it. I know it. Girardi knew it.

So why does he always get a free ride? Why has he been assumed, from day one, to be one of our "untouchables" in the starting rotation?

He is at best a .500 pitcher.

Not as reliable as Freddy Garcia. Hughes is showing he could be back and has far more upside. Nova is 9-4, for cripes sake. And Colon and CC are our top two starters.

Is Girardi afaraid of the "upset" AJ will feel? Is it the money they paid him to be mediocre? When was the last time he won any game?

I say; drop AJ Burnett from the rotation.

No more free rides for this clown.

  2. Send him, his tattoos, his nipple piercings and his sub-.500 winning percentage packing. Enough, already!
