Yankee batters prove that a 40-year-old who hasn't done anything in the last 15 months can still be effective

Andy Pettitte may or may not make it back, but any lingering doubts that it can be done were scuttled by Yankee batters today. They proved that Kevin Millwood - yes Kevin Millwood - can still excel after 40. That has to boost Pettitte's confidence, and he should thank the Yankee hitters for the psychic boost. With every out - especially with the bases loaded - Yankee batters were saying, "You can do it, Andy."

    Unfortunately, Andy can't pitch against the Yankees.
