News You Can Use: One of Pluto's newfound moons is named after a seventies supergroup

Need something to talk about around the BBQ pit. Wow them with this.

Pluto's two newest moons have been given names.

This means Pluto's moon lineup now stands as:

NIX - Named for the plucky Yank utility infielder
CHARON - Wasn't he a shortstop for the Reds?
HYDRA - Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s nemesis
KERBEROS - wtf?
STYX - Climb aboard my starship, we're headed for the skyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

If this doesn't get you some action this weekend, nothing will.

  1. Far out! REALLY far out, like at the periphery of the solar system. So, science has recognized my (then) celestial body by naming a moon "Led Zeppelin"? Fantastic. And the friggin' Rolling Stones don't even have an asteroid named after them. Well, squeeze my lemon!
