We would be eight games behind with about 40 to go.
We could also fall four games out of the wild card, and - more concerning - be behind three teams in the race.
As horrible as 2013 was, this year's team could fall out of meaningful contention in the month of August. Last year, the Yankees toyed with hope until the last week of the season.
Are we still thinking of trading prospects for John Danks? Is anybody starting to think about next year? Hello? Mr. Cashman?
We could probably get William Bendix for Bettances.
ReplyDeleteIf we're really lucky, it rains every day in every city we're scheduled from now until early October. Though that would mean we'd have to sign Noah "The Ark" Lowry.
It is done. Two home runs and in an instant the Yanks go from 2-1 to 2-5. Over. Finished. Kaput. Adios.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brian Cashman (because I place all blame on you), for ruining my vacation. Here I am in a village in Bavaria at 3:37 a.m. and this is what I get for bringing the laptop with me.
That Noah the Ark Lowry reference is quite clever. Bendix for Bettances rolls off the tongue nicely.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry: The season is saved!
ReplyDeleteLBJ, Hal trying to be a chip off the ol' block? Well, c'mon Hal. Fire somebody other than a strength coach. Shake things up a little. what could it hurt?
