Every team in baseball honored Jeter and Mariano. But the Yankees couldn't give either a post-season

They both deserved to end their careers on baseball's greatest stage.

The Yankees flat-out failed them.

Does anybody but the strength coach ever pay a price for incompetence?

  1. Screw that. They gave them 17 post seasons, 7 WS appearances and 5 rings, which are 5 more than Ted Williams, Ernie Banks and Ty Cobbs have combined. Jeter and Mo lived two very blessed baseball lives, and they'll be the first to tell you that. This wasn't like Mattingly, a good guy who never sniffed the postseason until his final year. The C4 drank deep from the October champagne throughout their careers. No shame in them going dry their last go 'round.
