After a day of squalls, Syracuse clips nearly 2 inches off of Buffalo's lead in Golden Snow

Frank Zappa understood the secret of golden snow: You don't eat it.

In upstate New York, we fight for it - in the annual Golden Snowball competition, to see which city records the largest winter accumulation.

Thursday and Friday, the upstate dynastic Syracuse added 2.3 inches - while the current leader, Buffalo - only put up 0.4.

The Buffs still have a comfortable lead. But the Salt Potatoes are coming, folks, and there is plenty of snowball yet to play.
