Last week, the Yankees ended a 15-year malaise of mishandling and discarding youth. (For a few seasons, it wasn't a problem, because the franchise still possessed the components of the late 1990s championship teams.)
Last week, at the trade deadline, the Yankees kept all their top prospects, while Toronto threw everything it had into a short-term charge for this year's race.
Toronto is blazing hot.
Question: If the Blue Jay streak continues, if Toronto overtakes us, will the NY echo chamber blame the front office for refusing to trade the future?
Trading a prospective future that could be derailed by injuries or failure to adjust to MLB for a championship this year seems like not such a bad idea to me.
ReplyDeleteThis off season they may as will kiss their first round pick good bye and sign Price.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared to death of Toronto, but still prefer holding onto the youngsters, something preached and preached again on this blog for as long as I've been reading it. Well, they've listened to us ( LOL) so we sink or swim with this decision,,,,,
ReplyDeleteEither way, this season has been terrific and has waaaaay exceeded my wildest dreams!
