Maybe Aroldis Chapman was just "standing his ground?"

Good news: Jon Heyman says he'll skate.

Word is going around that a long suspension is unlikely in the case of Aroldis Chapman’s alleged domestic violence incident. MLB is taking the domestic violence issue very seriously but word is the evidence may be thin in this case. The Yankees aren’t saying anything beyond that they did their “due diligence” in making the trade. But suffice it to say, they wouldn’t have made the deal if they thought he was in for a long suspension.

I'm thinking Chapman felt threatened by the garage and, thus, under Florida "Stand Your Ground" law, was quite within his rights to start pumping bullets into the advancing, menacing structure. On occasion, we've all been attacked by carports or seemingly inert buildings, with their catcalls and threatening gestures. I wouldn't want opposing batters to think that a garage would get the best of our closer.

Wait. I just thought of something: Maybe the garage door wouldn't close...

  1. I don't want to be a nag, but Gardy's magical head appeared on "Outer Limits." The "Twilight Zone" episode, "To Serve Man," featured Richard Kiel, known to a later generation as Jaws in a James Bond movie or two.

Not worth mentioning, really, except that it might be important to keep our freakish sci-fi characters straight in case one of the Scranton kids turns out to look like Worf.

  2. AS I ALERTED ALPHONSO IN HIS "HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL" POST, IT SEEMS LIKE CHAPMAN'S GIRLFRIEND TOOK PICTURES OF THE "BEATING", OR "STRANGLING" OR WHATEVER IT WAS.....THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THERE WERE NO MARKS!...ZERO!...NADA!...NOTHING!..NOT EVEN A SLIGHT SKIN DISCOLORATION!..THAT IS WHY THE COPS DID NOT ARREST HIM!..I SAW THE PICTURE....ALL I SAW WAS TITS....(NICE TITS THOUGH).

  4. Kiel was a fun guy, by all accounts. That came through in the Bond films, too.

Hey, where can I see the pictures of this Chapman incident? Just put it in The Google?

  6. Kiel became friends with Roger Moore (who was great in 'The Saint', but a horrible Bond). That was what got him the second movie. Had many friends in hollyweird and was normal except for being a 7 foot scary guy.
