The Yankees kept giving up the lead and getting it back. The Yankees were scoring some runs.
A-Rod looked like the 27 year old version ( except, of course, he didn't play defense ) of the man.
My probability formula was not designed to deal with a calculation involving more than 2 runs for the Yankees.
Time for an adjustment.
With enough Canadian Whiskey in me, I was able to see a new, " path to the light," make a few changes and substitute the concept of a tie game for the 2 run variable. If I had been drinking more during my probability theory classes years ago, I might have turned out smart.
At 6-6, therefore, I re-ran the numbers, per my new approach.
The probability of the Yankees overcoming yet another tie, at the 6 run level, in Boston, flashed negative ( I ran the equation several times, as there was margin for error).
It was only then that I turned off the TV.
The predicted outcome was exactly the same as for the previous two games, only different.
How did Joe look in the press conference?

at this rate, he'll be gone by June. It's clearly time for a change, although I agree with those who say Cashman is the primary culprit. But Girardi has overstayed his welcome, too. Rigid, ramrod. These are good adjectives for men of a certain age, but when it comes to managing a baseball team not so much.
