  1. Hmmmmm. That's a pretty interesting statistic.

    It seems to be one of those statistics that looks like it's trying to prove something. Mark Twain had a good quote about those kinds of statistics.

    I wonder what the respective ERAs are since the August 1 trade deadline, i.e., vs. subsequent to the All Star Break. I could be wrong, but it doesn't feel like we've had the best bullpen in the division since 8/1...maybe before then, but not after...

    Last night, we had no starters and no bullpen.

    Luckily, the kid got some great defense behind him, to record a scoreless inning.

    Otherwise, they would still be clanging.
