This is why the juju gods kept the Cubs from winning for 100 years

Who knew? All this time, it was the Chicago Cubs who were holding the universe together.

Well, we should have seen it coming. Barely a week after the Curse of the Bambino ended in 2004, George W. Bush won re-election.

Now it's President Trump - with his wall, his waterboarding, his Putin envy, his plans to lock her up, his settling of scores, his enormous ego and his tiny little hands, and those 11 million people, who will soon be rounded up and disappeared - sort of like Cito Culver.

We warned you what happens when the Yankees suck: Go ahead - look it up,

Biggest winner last night? The media. For all his bashing, Trump will produce great TV ratings for the next four years. No dull moments. America is now a reality TV show. Isn't that what we always wanted?

So... buckle up. Hug your kids. Kiss your spouse. Love thy neighbor. Eat less salt. Fifty eight million Americans just lit a fuse and pitched it into the dumpster. These are always fun to watch, unless you live near the dumpster.

PEOPLE THINK HE'S STUPID....HE'S NOT.....HE WAS AN UNCONVENTIONAL CANDIDATE FOR SURE....... I BELIEVE THE CHANGE WAS NEEDED.

  2. CAPS, I hope you're right. And please stick with us. But I got a real bad feeling about this. I think we just turned the country over to a sociopath with the compulsiveness of a six-grader. It's not the policies that frighten me. It's the guy himself.

Still... this is not a political website. It's supposed to be a bombastic, reckless and wacko Yankee fan website - an escape from the shitstorm outside. And maybe I'm wrong about this. Hell, I swore Jesus Montero was going to be a great Yankee. So...

Aw fuckit. I haven't felt this depressed about America since 9-11. This morning, it took me an hour just to face the idea of posting something, anything. Last night, I went to bed around 10:30, shortly after the NY Times predicted Trump's victory - with a splitting headache. I woke up four times, each from a nightmare, and each time, I was even more depressed to think about what just happened.

I really think we, as a generation, will be judged harshly by history for what happened yesterday, and we will spend our final days regretting it - or worse - denying it.

  4. If Trump's "top people" include Gulianni and Chris Christy ( which they do ), I don't see how you can remain so positive.

In addition, if you watched Trump at all, you have to know he doesn't consult with anyone about anything. Nor is he willing to be influenced or persuaded that his view ( on anything) is wrong.

Global warming is a hoax. Immigration (once an asset of this country, is now a liability. Health care for all is just wrong. Let the sick ones suffer, die and go bankrupt.. And we do not need this education bullshit. Why pay our bills? No one needs to pay taxes. Fuck the Constitution. Treaties are for shit. Bring more Generals into the government.

You got what you asked for.

Many of the top German officers in WWII felt that the " best years of their lives," occurred during the early years of Hitler. I suspect that there will be many who say the same about the Trump years. But many more won't.

Nonetheless, he is the country's choice.

And, oh, what a country it is. One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all....

    Luckily, there is baseball.

  5. I'M POSITIVE BECAUSE MY HEALTH CARE BILL IS SKY HIGH RIGHT NOW.....I'M POSITIVE BECAUSE NO MORE SYRIAN REFUGEES WILL BE ABLE TO SLINK INTO THIS COUNTRY AND POTENTIALLY MURDER INNOCENT AMERICANS......I'M POSITIVE BECAUSE MYSELF, MY SMALL BUSINESS, (AND COUNTLESS OTHER AMERICANS) ARE PAYING TAXES OUT THE ASS, AND I'M SICK OF IT.....RIGHT NOW, I'M HAPPY TO TAKE MY CHANCES WITH WHAT I ASKED FOR.

  8. At this point, all-caps, I suppose we have to hope that your optimism about the election will prove correct; however, every fiber of my being tells me you are NOT correct: what you have failed to note is that Obama never really had a chance to succeed, and to advance his policies. He inherited an economy that was flushed down the toilet, and was circling the bowl, thanks to Bush/Cheney. That, alone, should have told you the country couldn't stand even one more year of right-wing rule - - and now, we have elected as our Prez a person who probably has paid no federal tax for many years (while YOUR tax-bill has been paid, I'm sure), has uttered falsehoods roughly 64 percent o the times he has been fact-checked, has walked away from bankruptcies with millions for himself, while his contractors, workers, and creditors have been stiffed - - repeatedly - - an egomaniac who loves to plaster his last name all over buildings....I am deeply afraid for this country I love, at this juncture.
I am also sorry to have to discuss politics on this, my favorite baseball website -- I love the Yankees, have been a fan ever since I saw The Mick play in 1955 - - but I would have more faith in Randy Levine, Lon Trost, Cash-Puss, and Joey Binders to "fix" the country, than I do in this person we have elected - - and, I assure you, I have virtually NO faith in the above-listed to "fix" either the country, OR the Yanks. 9. Oh - - and I failed to note one other key factor: that grinning jackass, McConnell, who stated shortly after Obama was elected, that his, and his party's, number-one goal was to make certain that Obama did not succeed. Mission accomplished, Jackass!
