The Yankees Are ( apparently ) Tired of Winning

I have never seen so many opportunities handed to the Yankees to blow this game open.  Even just now, bases loaded and one out, tie game, bottom of the 10th.

Well, kiss it goodby now.

Baltimore is too good to sit by and let us have another shot.  Jones and Machado will make us pay.  And how come their relievers are, of a sudden, better than ours?

When we come to bat next, the game will be out of reach. Only Didi is clutch today.

A few moves for GM Cashman to consider:

- What a relief it will be when he gets to return our .000 hitting catcher back to the minors.  Maybe to oblivion.  I did predict he will never have a hit as a yankee.

- He can send that relief pitcher ( Holder ) on the bus with him.  What a disaster.  Who ever saw anything in this useless rat?

Other thoughts:

Headley should have been given an error on the ground ball he flubbed.  In conjunction with his bad throw to first on the routine grounder, earlier, this is an ugly day for him.  I would fifty times rather have Torreyes in today.  I have to worry that Cheadly ( as Mustang calls him ) is regressing from the great player he has been in April, to the dufuus we have been more accustomed to.  Something in that first bad throw to first made him get a different, unconfident look in his eyes.

Despite his two home runs yesterday, Brett is hitting .205.  So why isn't he sitting instead of Jacoby?

I hate the Yankee failures today.

It's like someone just poured motor oil on our blueberry pancakes.

  1. MAN, THAT ONE HURT..... TO HAVE THE COMEBACK VICTORY SO CLOSE, ONLY TO LET IT SLIP AWAY WAS A KILLER..... I SAID THE SAME THING TODAY, IT LOOKS LIKE ALL THE LUSTER HAS WORN OFF OF HEADLEY..... LET GIRARDI START "RESTING" HIM...... AND, I AM NEVER COMFORTABLE WHEN HOLDER IS IN THE GAME, SORRY TO SAY...... I STILL LIKE MONTGOMERY....HE STAYS AWAY FROM THE OTHER TEAMS BEST HITTERS AND WALKS THEM, BUT IS STILL ABLE TO KEEP THE GAME CLOSE...... WE HAD A MILLION GUYS ON BASE THE WHOLE GAME TODAY!..... WE SHOULD HAVE SCORED 10 RUNS AT LEAST.

  2. Monty may develop into a good pitcher. Right now, his command is inconsistent, and I don't think he has quite enough quality in his pitches. But the Yankees love him, gave up a pitcher to keep him on the roster, and we can only hope they are right.

  3. Yes this game hurts and remember we are still developing young kids. This team was not supposed to have one of the best records in baseball, scoring this many runs and having this ERA, but they do. Either they are playing way above their talent level or this is the reincarnation of the mid 90's when a bunch of young kids with no experience and a couple of good veterans went on a huge run. Whatever it is, this is baseball and the best of teams have days like yesterday. It's frustrating, but I will take the month of April rather than look at some flubs. We don't have Sanchez, but Romine has hit much better than he was hitting when he got hurt and Bird hasn't done anything yet. It's going to be a fun summer
