Adam Jones subjected to racist names and taunts at Fenway

In Boston? Who woulda thunk it?

  1. Actually, I'd a thunk it.

They may be thought of as a bunch of old line, upper crust Brahmins, but Boston is one of the more racist towns this side of the Mason/Dixon line. Boston was the last MLB team to integrate. They violently opposed the busing of minority students to integrate predominantly white schools in "Southie" in the 1970s. I have personally witnessed rude treatment of blacks by beer-swilling Fenway scum (if that's not redundant). I won't even type what I heard first-hand. The account I read in the ESPN article sounds spot on.

They all suck. Never forget that.

  3. I've personally and successfully used the Red Sox are a monument to racism argument when someone challenged Jeters range. It's quite effective and shows no sign of wearing out as a rhetorical device. I thought electing Obama... NVM.

    Racist townie assholes.
