  5. I don't believe in jinxes, but I don't believe in the 2017 Yankees either.
The beginning of the season has been delightful, and my pre-season prediction of 79-83 is looking ridiculous, but the storm clouds are now gathering ahead of us.
    -Sabathia's ERA is approaching 6.00
-Tanaka's looking shaky; is his frayed ligament/tendon about to tear?
-As el duque has pointed out, Chapman is beginning to resemble Ryne Duren
    -I will never trust Pinata
-After a great start, Headley is beginning to resemble what he always was-an only slightly better than average major league player
-Greg Bird will not be healthy and productive until at least 2018
-At least two of these things are certain to happen soon: Gardner will get injured; Ellsbury will get injured; Hicks will slump
-I've been Chris Carter's biggest [only?] supporter in comments on this site, but even I am beginning to wonder whether he can be an adequate substitute for Bird
-We will soon be facing the dilemma we've feared. Will we need to trade some of our best prospects for a quality starting pitcher to keep our division title hopes alive?

  6. REVERSE JUJU ON THE SI COVER!!!!
    WE GOT IT COVERED!!!
    NO PROBLEM!!!

  7. The SI article itself was very good. He comes across as a saint. Baseball wise he'll be fine, but I fear the dead girl or the live boy.

  8. It is a negative, that's for certain. The media has ruined him already.

When was the last time he had a big hit?

What are remembering now; those early homers or the later strikeouts in huge RISP situations?

He is done. We need Mason Williams.

    At least he can bunt.

I hate Si. Even the dumb swimsuit promotion.

They know they cause problems. Yet they print covers anyway.

    All covers should require nudity.

That would let them sell the magazine, and yet not ruin careers.

If Aaron were nude in that shot, his career would still be on the ascent.

    Mark my words.
